In late 2015, Team Novo Nordisk’s men's professional squad and staff headed to Rosarita, Mexico to build houses for two families tragically impacted by diabetes and poverty. This unique training camp resonated throughout the season and everyone agreed it was essential to continue giving back.
This past week, Team Novo Nordisk built three houses in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic again for families affected by diabetes and poverty. In addition to the men’s professional team, this year’s service project included Team Novo Nordisk’s development team’s athletes and staff.

Team Novo Nordisk, the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team, is bringing up two of its best development riders, Frenchman Quentin Valognes and Dutchman Rik van IJzendoorn, onto the men’s pro squad as stagiaires for the remainder of the 2016 season. Van IJzendoorn is slated to make his professional debut at the Tour of Utah, which begins today.

The Volta do Rio Grande do Sul, one of Brazil's biggest annual cycling races, takes place in the south of the country. The race has been held annually since 2009 (albeit under a variety of different names), and is part of the UCI America Tour, with a 2.2 rating.
The five stages and 800km of 2016's edition took in the cities of Novo Hamburgo, São Francisco de Paula, Cambara, Campo Bom and Farrukhabad. It was won by Murilo Ferraz Afonso of Funvic Soul Cycles.
