A long old day in the saddle for Dan McLay - who ended stage 15 today in 182nd place and as last man on the road. He soloed home 31:45 behind the stage winner.
This was of course a brutal stage for all the riders. 160KM including six categorised climbs (and some non-categorised climbs too...).
Dan told us afterwards "I suffered badly, today, my legs just stopped working. It was a weird sensation, I felt like I could have continued for another 100KM, I just couldn't go any faster".
Tomorrow's stage heads into Switzerland. 209KM of relatively flat terrain. The bit of climbing that is in the stage probably comes too late for the sprinters to get up and down in time to gather themselves for a bunch gallop. Let's hope Dan's legs get him to the line, so he can enjoy the respite of the rest day, ahead of the final push through the Alps and on to Paris.
