Patrick finished stage 19 in position 123, in the largest group of the day that arrived at the finish 31:28 behind the stage winner. It was another brutal day in the mountains which finished with the climb of Mont Blanc. The mountain top finish came after 3 other categorised climbs - Cat 1, Cat 2 and HC, making for a short (146KM) but intense stage packed with climbing and descending.  The wet...

Stage 20 was the last opportunity for anyone who had anything left in their legs to try and escape the group of favourites and spend some time in the lead group on the road.  Patrick was delighted to escape and spend some time in the hills.  Below you can see him on the Col de la Colombiére.

 

 

Eventually the break was reeled in and Patrick finished the day in position 68, 19:57...

"Ahead" of the Individual Time Trial, Patrick decided to get his hair cut in the official BIC Barbershop in the Village Depart.  After the best part of a month on the road its important to stay looking sharp - especially with the grande finale coming up in Paris in a few days time!

It takes the support of many different people for the riders of a team to make it successfully through a Grand Tour. Today we received the news that Patrick's BORA - ARGON 18 team mate Shane Archbold was forced to quit the Tour following a crash during the stage today. Despite fracturing his pelvis 'The Flying Mullet' continued until the end of the stage, not even finishing last man on the road.
 
Today Patrick was joined on the Tour by his girlfriend. She will accompany him each day...
