Many people call this a rest day. But there's no such thing at the Tour de France. Sure, there is an element of recovery, but it's also about attention to detail, and using the time effectively to prepare well for the final, critical days ahead where the slightest adjustment here or there can make all the difference. Correcting a cleat position by a couple of mm, or swapping a custom insole can make that tiny difference that avoids extra pain and strain on the road to Paris.
