Patrick finished stage 19 in position 123, in the largest group of the day that arrived at the finish 31:28 behind the stage winner. It was another brutal day in the mountains which finished with the climb of Mont Blanc. The mountain top finish came after 3 other categorised climbs - Cat 1, Cat 2 and HC, making for a short (146KM) but intense stage packed with climbing and descending.  The wet...

Stage 20 was the last opportunity for anyone who had anything left in their legs to try and escape the group of favourites and spend some time in the lead group on the road.  Patrick was delighted to escape and spend some time in the hills.  Below you can see him on the Col de la Colombiére.

Many people call this a rest day.  But there's no such thing at the Tour de France.  Sure, there is an element of recovery, but it's also about attention to detail, and using the time effectively to prepare well for the final, critical days ahead where the slightest adjustment here or there can make all the difference.  Correcting a cleat position by a couple of mm, or swapping a custom...

Stage 16 provided a different kind of challenge - with a bunch sprint, and not only with the sprinters. The BORA - ARGON 18 climber Patrick Konrad managed to secure his highest placing at the race so far, finishing just outside the top ten in 12th position.

Stage Two saw the riders leave from a damp Saint Lô for the rain-soaked 183km stage to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. With four categorised climbs this stage was not exactly one for the out and out climbers, but it was far from flat.  Most notably the final 3km were incredibly steep, featuring one section of the Côte de La Glacerie at 14% gradient.
