Lisa Brennauer from CANYON//SRAM Racing has finished third on stage two at the Auensteiner Radsporttage tour this morning in Auenstein. The individual time trial stage was won by Annemiek van Vleuten (OGE) in a time of 10 minutes 26 seconds, ahead of Ashleigh Moolman (CBT) with Brennauer rounding out the podium.
After winning yesterday’s opening stage in a three-rider sprint, Brennauer held the yellow jersey going into the final day today, a split stage. All riders had wet conditions for the short undulating 7.6km ITT circuit in Auenstein. Brennauer finished 13 seconds behind the winner, with a time of 10 minutes 39 seconds. Team mate Trixi Worrack put in another strong performance as she returns to racing following three months off due to injury. Worrack finished twelfth on the stage.

Brennauer said “I didn’t make any real mistakes in the race. For me personally the longer the time trial the better, so sometimes I struggle a little bit with these shorter time trials. I lost some important seconds on the general classification but it’s not over yet and we see can just see how this afternoon goes.”
Brennauer goes into the final stage this afternoon third on the general classification, 13 seconds behind van Vleuten who took over the yellow jersey.
