Easy this Tour de France lark innit? "anyone fancy another week?", joked Dan McLay at the end of today's short but intense mountainous stage in to Morzine-Avoriaz.
A better day all round for Dan, coming home in 139th position, comfortably in the main grupetto, 34:08 behind the stage winner. This puts Dan in position 171 with 175 riders left in the race. No matter what the last few Alpine stages have taken out of his legs, lets hope he can find a little more strength tomorrow afternoon on the Champs-Élysées!

Earlier this week l’Equipe reported that last year’s Tour runner-up Primož Roglič would have a two month break from racing prior to the French event. That approach goes against the trend of all recent Tour winners, yet Jumbo-Visma believes that this route is the best one to take. Is the team right?
