Patrick finished stage 19 in position 123, in the largest group of the day that arrived at the finish 31:28 behind the stage winner. It was another brutal day in the mountains which finished with the climb of Mont Blanc. The mountain top finish came after 3 other categorised climbs - Cat 1, Cat 2 and HC, making for a short (146KM) but intense stage packed with climbing and descending. The wet conditions made some of the descents treacherous and for many riders, so close to Paris, caution was the order of the day.
