Koni's teammate and former German National Road Race Champion Emanuel Buchmann was a very respectable 15th today, just 1:41 down.
Sam Bennett completed the stage safely within the grupetto. Sadly Katusha rider Michael Mørkøv became the first abandonment of the the race. The result is despite his good day today, Sam becomes the race's Lantern Rouge once again.
