When your kid gets 4 x top 10 finishes in the first week of his debut Tour de France I guess its pretty hard to stay away. Here's Dan McLay's parents looking like the proudest people on the planet - and why not!
Whatever advice Dan received it certainly seemed to work, as once again he finished a flat stage in the mix. Considering 4 escaped the bunch and Dan sat-up in the gallop - his 14th place today was still another outstanding ride. Simply to be there in the finale was an achievement on a day when the crosswinds threatened to tear the race apart.
Just the small matter of Mont Ventoux tomorrow - hardly a sprinter's paradise!
