Tour de France 2018 #ForzaPasqua STAGE 13

July 21, 2018 0 Comments

#ForzaPasqua!

#Green #Team #Three

169.5 KM (FLAT) BOURG D'OISANS > VALENCE 3'45"55

Pasqua sprinted to another top ten, securing 8th place on a flat stage. Dion Smith finished 12th and Timothy Dupont 14th, as the team with no organised sprint leadout or sprint leader continue to hunt for points for the team classification. Pasqua's personal ambition is to secure top 3 in the green jersey competition, where currently he lies 5th.

Stage 13 profile 2018 Tour de France

The 13th stage linked Bourg d'Oisans to Valence, and offered another possibility for the sprinters after three days of suffering in the Alps. The 169 kilometers of the day were coloured by a break of four riders. The last surviving rider Schär was caught at 6 kilometers from the line. The narrow and ascending arrival in the streets of Valence was in favor of the fast men.

Stage 13 2018 Tour de France

Peter Sagan proved to be unbeatable again, Andrea Pasqualon took eighth position. Thanks to the positioning of Dion Smith (12th) and Timothy Dupont (14th), Wanty-Groupe Gobert wins the team classification for the fourth time. Saturday the fourteenth stage links Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux with Mende,  where the Montée Jalabert promises a beautiful show for the stage victory.

Stage 13 sprint 2018 Tour de France

Andrea Pasqualon:

"I had legs to finish in the top 5. I approached the last roundabout in a good position, but then there was a gap behind the 6th rider. I was in the company of Colbrelli, but I had to launch my sprint after the roundabout to try and close the gap. I end up in the top 10 again, but I wanted to do better. The day was very tiring and fast, with more than 45km/h on average. FDJ started imposing the pace from the first kilometers, and the final was very dangerous with the many roundabouts. "

"I am happy with my feeling because I have found my good legs again. I had two difficult days in the mountains, without power in my legs. This is a good sign for this weekend. There will be very difficult stages waiting, where the break will undoubtedly get their chance. So why not attack? "

ASO Stage Summary

Peter Sagan claimed his eleventh stage win at the Tour de France, the third one since the start in Vendée, as he outsprinted Alexander Kristoff and Arnaud Démare in Valence. It was a transition stage for race leader Geraint Thomas between the Alps and the uphill finish in Mende.
