#ForzaPasqua!

#Seventh #Top #Ten

116 KM (FLAT) HOUILLES > PARIS CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES 2'46"36

Pasqua sprinted to 9th place on the Champs Elysees, an impressive seventh top ten in this year's Tour de France. GVK attacked early and got himself into a break of 6 who were caught as the bell sounded for the final lap. Overall Team Wanty-Groupe Gobert have once again over-performed, beating several UCI World Tour teams in the team classement.

Team Wanty-Groupe Gobert Summary

Wanty-Groupe Gobert finished the complete for the second time in a row. The tireless Guillaume Van Keirsbulck attacked on Champs Elysees, but was caught in the final 10 kilometers. Andrea Pasqualon sprinted to a 9th place in the final stage, Timothy Dupont finished 11th. Wanty-Groupe Gobert once again won the day classification of the teams and ended complete with eight riders in Paris.

Andrea Pasqualon:

"To sprint top 10 on Champs Elysees was one of my goals this year. It is very beautiful here, especially because it is after three weeks of hard stages. For sure the legs were tired after all the climbs and the stress. It was a very fast sprint. Timo and me were in the front in the last kilometer. Top 10 between guys as Sagan and Colbrelli is not bad. I am happy to finish my second Tour.

Yesterday I had a problem with the gendarmerie before the start of my ITT. I started more than 4 minutes 30 seconds late. I was panicking for a moment in my head, but I managed to arrive in time! Another goal is reached by finishing with the whole team of 8 riders here in Paris. I saw Hilaire and Jean-François being very happy. Personally I am glad that I could finish seven times top 10 here!"

ASO Stage Summary

European champion Alexander Kristoff won the conclusive stage of the 105th Tour de France on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, the second success for UAE Team Emirates after super combative Dan Martin took stage 6 in Mûr-de-Bretagne. It’s Kristoff’s third victory after two stages in 2014. Geraint Thomas claimed his first overall victory while Tom Dumoulin and Chris Froomerounded out the podium.
