Stage 5 of the Tour of Britain saw the peloton race from Aberdare Park in the Rhondda to a spectacular finish immediately outside the Royal Crescent in Bath. It was Kiwi Jack Bauer of Team Cannondale who took the victory after what was left of a ragged bunch just failed to catch the break before the line.
Conquista favourite Dan McLay finished in the top ten and took over the Chain Reaction Cycles Points Jersey.
